Painting Description: In “Ching Orchid”, a poem from the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Yu once said: Part white and yellow at the same time, no one is fully content. While the heart may not be big, one can always find tolerance. Orchids are appreciated by people, but they don't bloom for their admiration. Orchids can bloom white and yellow flowers and also exude a delicate fragrance. The orchid pistil is tiny but its fragrance is strong. Wild orchids exist in deep valleys and will bloom whether or not people come to appreciate them. “Empty-Valley Orchids” refers to people of high moral standards and discipline. Although the pistil of the orchid is small, it can contain a lot of fragrance. Whenever the orchid is in full bloom, the fragrance exudes from its pistil, which makes people feel refreshed and happy.
